The best sugaring equipment for making maple syrup!

    In honor of tag, I started this thread here.

    Now, uh, since I know nothing of sugaring equipment or making maple syrup (though in 5th grade I did take a field trip of a maple syrup making place) - anyone else know what's the best equipment out there?

    ...And I can't wait to read the first complaint of "...what does this have to do with the PRIUS?!??!" :)

    Now of counse to make maple syrup you need the right maple trees, collectively usually called a sugarbush. The northern counties of Minnesota let them out on an annual basis. My father-in-law and one of his buddies have done this for several years but will be giving up their area this winter due to age. If anyone is interested it is just north of Two Harbors. :mrgreen:

    I'm so tempted to leave our Off Topic area called this forever so that in 5 years when we're still on PriusChat a newbie will come on and ask why this forum is called "Fred's House of Pancakes" and we'll have a great old time rehashing the Gay Marriage Thread :)

    Of course, that thread will still be going at that point because there's no way I'm going to close it. EVER.

    Actually, I thought Fred's was only in Walla Walla -- didn't realize there was one in Seattle.

    I guess the local WSU Cougs needed their soul food...
