The $4.00 Gallon of Gas Contest

Let PriusChat buy your Prius a tank of gas! Remember when the idea of $4/gallon gas was just a scary news story, or when the stories of gas actually going down seemed, um, hopeful? Well, PriusChat would like to help ease the burden of pricey gas for you. Can you guess when the national average price for a gallon of gas will reach $4.00? If so, PriusChat will buy your Prius a tank of gas! All you have to do is decide what day you think the national average price of gas will hit $4.00 according to the FuelGaugeReport. As of this posting, the average national price of gas is $3.794. Here's how to enter & rules:

• If you're not already registered, become a member of PriusChat. Once you are logged-in, go into the $4.00 Gas Contest Calendar and Add a New Event. Choose the date when you think gas will hit four bucks, enter in whatever Title you would like and whatever comment you'd like to leave in the "Event Information" section, then hit the "Save Event" button. That's it!
• Each PriusChat member can enter 3 times. You can enter your guess multiple times on 1 day or select 3 different days to enter.
• If there are multiple members who correctly guess the same day, the winner will be chosen randomly from the selection of correct entries. By random I mean that I will probably ask my dog which of you should win.
• The value of the prize will be 11.9 x price of gas the day it goes over $4. We'll even throw in the 9/10ths of a cent.
• Submissions must be entered 24 hours before the day gas prices reach $4.00.

I'm sure that most of you realize this already, but the contest is for the national average price of gasoline, not your local price.

Also, you are allowed to enter 3 entries per person.
