Day 2 and i've already fallen in love. It's like riding on a stick of butter. The battery assisted power is just phenomenal. I can often go up to 30-35mph in my neighborhood on battery power alone which saves a lot of gas. Just before i deplete the battery, there's a nice downhill stretch which regenerates the charge giving me another 3/4mi of pure battery power before i hit the main thoroughfare...incredible. When i come to stop at intersections, the car is dead quiet. And if i have sufficient battery power, the car will often drive up to 40mph on battery power alone if I'm not too heavy on the gas.

What a beautiful piece of engineering. I can't wait until Toyota introduces a full electric plugin.

Did i mention that i love this car...and this coming from a grown, hairy man who used to drive an IS350.

Bear in mind that running in EV mode only doesn't necessarily yield the best mileage. The energy has to come from somewhere.

I probably would've described it differently, but I get the point. It is indeed a fine automobile.

LOL love your choice of words. Agreed, this is one fine piece of engineering.

No argument here. I have thought about a G1 and a G2 prius. G1 was so I could use HOV in va. But, to me it seemed to be the car that if you had to get a hybrid, you could live with.

G2 was much better, a good car for a hybrid, but still for me, it did not seem to be a primary car. When I drove the G3, it was a good car...that is a hybrid. Two things would make it a great car: 1) better handling (hey, its a toyota!), and 2) rear visibility.

I might do mods at some time: stiffer springs, and backup camera. But not for now.
