About 5 years ago I read a thread on here that gave a fantastic write up of testing and replacing the individual cells of the hybrid battery. After searching I can’t find it. Do you know the thread that I’m looking for?

That’s a good post but not the one that I seen before. The one I remember told you exactly how to disconnect the battery and disconnect the cells from one another safely.
Fairly sure no thread has a write-up of testing and replacing the individual cells of the hybrid battery seeing as they are contained within a sealed module. A module is the gray rectangular unit that is the smallest item you can work with. There are 28 modules in the battery pack. Is one of these threads the one you were thinking of? Gen II Prius Individual Battery Module Replacement How I Recondition Cells The only comment I'd make about the first thread is the "equalizing" process mentioned. That is where all module positives are connected together and all module negatives are connected together and then it is left in that configuration for twenty-four hours so that the voltages of all modules equalize. This has subsequently proved to be a waste of time and no meaningful equalization takes place. If modules are going to self-discharge away from the majority, then those modules are not suitable for the build.
