    Actually?
I can concur in this wholeheartedly without even reading the report.
Tesla (IIRC) is a publicly owned company, started by two dudes neither of whom have the last name of 'Musk.'
The modern (post 2003) incarnation of TSLA sprang to life following a $6.5 million investment by Elon Musk who became the largest shareholder of the company after the initial failure of the founders to scale up.
This informs ME that money ain't exactly Musk's North Star.
    SPOILER ALERT!
    The Earth isn't either!!

    TSLA is an expediency.
    NOT an end goal.
Musk probably (almost CERTAINLY!) used TSLA illegally in his efforts to shore up SpaceX back when Falcons rode solo in the dark, forgotten folds of history (2006-2009.)
Elon HIMSELF said that rockets and car manufacturing are two of the stupidest things you can do to make money, and I tend to take people like him (genius megalomaniacal autistics) at his word, if for no other reason than he lacks ANY ability to dissimulate!
Musk is on a mission, and like him or hate him it has little to do with EVangelism, the Tweeter machine, or what conservatives or liberals think about him. Musk believes to his very core that if humanity is to survive beyond this brief mote of time we've been scratching about here on THIS rock then we have to expand our horizons to OTHER rocks.
He wants HIS name to feature prominently in that expansion.

    That's it.
    That's all!
The thing that separates Musk from similar genius megalomaniacal autistics, is ABILITY.

It is remarkable that Elon Musk, the individual, is hated by so many on the Left and Right. Meanwhile, his critics stand dumbfounded by his electric cars and trucks, reusable and massive rockets, fast low cost tunneling machines, software expertise, and another handful of leading edge efforts. Musk reminds us:

“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.”

    ― Friedrich Nietzsche

My criticism of Musk is having children by three women. It means they and their girl friends hate (or can't stand to live with) him. Yet he loves his children and takes them into the most interesting places of work. But I've only had one wife of 43 years and a second of 2 years ... and no children. I can appreciate that he has contributed to the gene pool.

I have worked with brilliant people and observed how geniuses are so often resented by others. They achieve remarkable things yet their accomplishments are seldom recognized by critics who have no chance of similar accomplishments. Spite by others comes with the territory and these emotional critics engender no admiration. We are known, or should be, by what we contribute in our lives.
