I have not gotten notification from Tesla that this program exists. But if it does, WOW!

He claims Tesla has or is working on a Tesla program that would or could replace my 2170 NMC battery pack with a lithium iron phosphate pack. Interested, I would like to see confirmation from Tesla but this is consistent with the Tesla Mission statement.

My 3,800 lb Model 3 has an 800 lb battery that as expected, slowly degrades. Trashing 3,000 lbs of body for an 800 lb part does not make sense. With an appropriate trade-in credit for the NMC batteries, I could see keeping the car and going with a better battery chemistry.
