One taxi company, "Van Rhijn" has two Prii taxis as an experiment here. And I came across one today. They need to work on their PR, it's impossible to find anything about this experiment on the internet. As you can see in the photo, the Prii have to compete with Mercedes Benz E-class cars, the car of choice for most taxi drivers here.

Edit: found some more info. Seems SKF, one of their major clients, was the driver behind this experiment. The taxi company got a 3-year contract for transporting visitors from the international airport to SKF facilities, in return for adding a few Prii to their fleet.

Here in Denver, Colorado they are starting to show up. A big taxi company bought 10 with option for 500.

Need they have it tinted in Norway? or is SKF some big fancy company with VIPs?

either way, nice to see them in Europe esp. since European cars are (of course) heavily favoured as taxis.

In my city, they've pretty much overhauled most of their taxis and they're now running on Corollas, Camrys, Camry Hybrids and Priuses. It's now rare to see a non-Toyota taxi.

Contrary to popular belief, The Netherlands are not part of Norway. I don't know about Norway, but here in The Netherlands, tinted windows are certainly not required for taxis. In fact, I think having your front windows tinted is illegal. My guess is that it's just the photo.

They're not tinted, it is the photo. Crappy mobile phone camera and there is a covered walkway right next to the car, what you're seeing is that roof and the structure holding it up, reflected in the side window. I was standing under the roof taking the photo. You can see the white inside of the B-pillar clearly through the window, that would not be possible if the windows were heavily tinted.
