Looking for thoughts on the following

Me taking over a lease on a 2017 Prius and then to buy it out

    Rate is .99

I figure would cost about the same as financing through my bank to buy a used Prius. Seller would pay transfer fees

    We are located in Canada

It is model/year/color I’m looking for

Not a lot of choice here and this Prius is have to fly and then drive back 14 hours

I’m located in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada

    Thanks

    Welcome to PriusChat!

Well if the cost works out and the car look legit, then it seems reasonable. I'm not sure what type of advice you want from this site in this scenario. It seems you are set on the vehicle and based on the information you've given us, it looks ok.

Do you have specific figures to back this up or is this a general assumption you are making? If we get some specifics, we could probably help you make a more informed decision.

I spent the first 12 years of my life close to you (Dugald, Man). I'm curious to know how the older Prii are standing up to all the salt in the wintertime.

Well, we have chosen to spend less and look for a Prius C.
We re specific in our search and may buy one that matches in Ontario....

Salt seems to be ok in cars here in MB

Car looking at is below. New search car, now wrong thread being 4 Gen

13 Prius C technology w nav. 54,000 km with clean Carproof. Asking $14,00 from a Toyota dealer

For reference, a 2013 Prius c Technology is $23,415 CAD (without the Premium Package) when it was new. Freight/PDI added another $1,395. The Premium Package adds SofTex seats, Power Moonroof, Heated Front Seats, Foglamps and 16" Alloy Wheels (which quickens the steering ratio but also increases the turning circle).

This Prius also has the premium package. Dealer also states protection plan, under coating etc

I put out an ad on tacomaworld forum where I belong and have someone viewing it this Saturday. More give me piece of mind as I don’t want to fly and drive back

Oh, then, the Premium Package is $2,240, bringing the price to $25,655 when new.

Sounds good. The upgrade to the 2017 Prius is quite large compared to the Prius c. The new chassis and rear suspension really make it a nicer car to drive.
