Has anyone upgraded their audio in terms of bass? Where would be a solid spot to put the subwoofers in the Prius other than the obvious trunk
1. If you don't plan on having back seat passengers you can have a custom dual sub box built for the floor space back there. Leaving the seat area to still be used as storage. So maybe dual 8" sub box that spans the entire length of the rear floor space. 2. Under the seat. Not great though because you don't get the same experience between the two front seats and under seat space is very cramped. 3. Nothing wrong with trunk though. You can do a low profile 10" down firing and barely lose any space. Though I'd recommend a standing subwoofer over downfiring. Have it positioned so the back of the sub is against the back of the rear seats, sub speaker facing towards rear of car. Again, you lose only a little space with that config. If you do that, I would find a way to latch it to the seats so it doesn't fall over on its face. Look at amazon item B08NFGZGZV to see the shape I'm talking about. DO NOT buy an all in one subwoofer (where it has its own amp embedded in it) unless none of the reviews complain about overheating. There are some that because there's no airflow in/out of the box (sealed, not ported) and because they don't have an external heatsink, they overheat easily. But likely an all-in-one will be your best option so you're not juggling a separate amplifier.
Disappointed that two years in none of the big dogs have jumped on making a sub enclosure for this car. No market I guess? That cubby in the rear on the driver side is begging for a woofer. If all else fails until spring I will end of glassing my own even though I really don't want to do it.
