Maybe I'm missing something and somewhere in the procedure. I have tried very hard to fit my charging cable into the tight slot but I think it is too tight for a thick cable (maybe is a 5AWG) to turn in side. So I left the cable in my truck in a mess.

Can some please explain how to fit this cable nicely into this slot? I'm just afraid I will kink the cable in long run... wondering if Toyota has a lesson learn or corrective action database that we can put or suggest..

    Thanks

It's 12AWG. The way I saw it go in was spooled up in a circle (not a bundle) and dropped into the slot. It fit pretty easy.

I don't have one. I saw it on a youtube video. I looked at the cable in person and, IIRC, the one I saw was marked as 12AWG.

What I saw was wrapped up in a circle about 12 inches in diameter.

Really.. it's a very massive cable. The insulation layer probably 1cm thick.. :)

I don't think it requires a clever method. As I said, I saw a video of someone putting it back there just after having wound it in a circle. He just slipped it right in there with nothing but gravity in a few seconds.

Well if you can't fit your charging cable in there, here's an alternative what you can fit in,but the cable should fit actually!

Wrap it so the cable doesn't overlap itself. In other words it spirals inside of itself.

Sounds like when you pack for a trip everything fits in the travel bag...but on the way back it is just a pain.

That's much smaller then my PIP. I store my charger and a 50ft extension cord down there

I don't really know about passenger room, but concerning storage just about everything has become smaller on the Prime compared to its predecessor .
    Upper glovebox vanished !
Glovebox below reduced to about the size of upper glovebox of gen. 3 .
Not even talking about hight and width, even the depth of the trunk is smaller while the car its self has become significantly longer than gen 3 !
Still think they messed up big time here !

The guy doing the walkthrough video of the hatch area, where he describes the pump and slime kit. Makes me cringe a bit. The reality of a puncture and using that kit, it'll pretty much toast the tire, the tpms, and possibly the rim as well? It'll be a mess. And may not even work.

I was able to roll up the charging cable and fit it into the slot last weekend when I went to Vegas. I just rolled it up and dropped it in there, wasn't too difficult for me. I do it again later and take a pic.

You forgot about the third gen under-the-hatch-floor tray, also gone. First time I saw that tray, it was whoa! In a good way.

I agree with you. I carry a plug kit because any tire slime makes a huge mess on your rim.

Yes I'm going to miss that too and underneath there is even another storage place, probably ment for a spare tire but doesn't fit one .
Also gone in gen. 4 !
