Sticker on drivers side door seal says, Caution, Load Carrying Capacity Reduced Modifications to this vehicle have reduced the load carrying capacity by 63 lbs. I can picture it if i need.
My questions are: 1) what modification was made that requires such a sticker? 2) 63 lb is a tiny number. Who would care about this slightly reduced load-carrying capacity?
Both posts above pretty much sum it up, Is this a normal sticker from the factory, what should i look into to verify what modifications were made, etc.
I have never heard of a sticker like this from the factory. Does your model have any special features? Did you buy it new or used? Tom
Almost certainly the previous owner had some piece of equipment installed. It's very unlikely that any of us can guess what it was without a lot more information. Tom
If anyone wants to do said above ill document/post any pictures that could help identify this mystery item.
I recommend that you inspect the following: 1) What is the tire size installed on the car? 2) Look at the suspension, especially the coil springs. Does any part look like it is aftermarket? 3) Do you see anything installed in the vehicle that looks aftermarket or amateurish, just like the label that you took a photo of earlier? If so, take some sharp photos and post.
Ill post some photos later, but i received 5 letters from toyota today in the mail each with a sticker exactly like the one on my car, but stated in a long explanation that its car modifications that did not equate with the original capacity tire sticker on the cars as in package difference vrs stock weight. Ill copy the letter tommorow from the corollas at my work, with the long explanation and the sticker saying the load capacity has been reduced a whopping 10 pounds.
A lot of our PDI's come from the factory with these stickers, why I am unsure. I even seen them with as low as "1lb" on the sticker.
The sad thing was i searched all over the car and found these phantom footprints tracking stickers on the car so i figured i had some sort of gps unit hid away or something cool, felt a bit retarded when i found out they are nothing but super stickers that do nothing!
Two possibilities for the 63 lbs: 1. Full size spare -- although it would require a larger "pan." 2. Roof mounted light bar. Either/both might have been part of an factory "police package."
