After 8000 miles on the Prius I just noticed the bezel around the start button is loose and can wiggle the bezel slightly back and forth. Just wondering if this is just normal?

I read this post early this morning. Kept it in the back of my mind so that I could check it out this afternoon. I noticed a little 'wiggle' with the silver ring around the start button, if that's what you're talking about. If it's gotten much worse, you might want to have it looked at. However, I would think that it alone doesn't warrent a visit to the dealer; if you are going to see them for another reason, you might want to point it out.

I checked mine too, very slight wiggle I otherwise would never have noticed if this thread hadn't come to life. Not gonna worry about it.

Hmm, I checked mine and it doesn't wiggle. Mine's only a week old though. If it bothers you, just ask the dealer to glue it back or something, otherwise it should be fine

The reason I brought the switch up I wanted to see if thats the way it was assembled at Toyota or just mine I thought the switch might be threaded on the back side and was loosing up from vibration which would cause Dash rattle later on. Going to the Toyota Dealer to have the Brakes checked they grab so bad Light pressure on pedal at slow speeds 5 mph could put you through the windshield.

Yeah, I figured it was a screw-in, screw-out thing, but couldn't get it to budge when I tried. Bare (bear?) in mind that I wasn't going to force it until it turned or broke.

Perhaps you can ask to see a technical manual when you're at the dealership. Sounds odd, but it's worked for me before. I went to the Buick dealer and said that I had a minor cosmetic problem but didn't want to bother them with it; if you'll let me check out the tech manual, I'll do it myself. They handed me a manual and I was good to go.

Actually, I was hoping the dealer would say, "no prob, I'll get that no charge." Maybe yours will, but if not, perhaps the manual will show you how it's attached.
