Standard Car Ramp Extensions

    I assume somebody has probably posted about this before so sorry if it’s a repeat. I got this idea from YouTube. Seems to work really well. It’s a 2 x 10 x 8 piece of wood cut in half with an added wood brace. It cost about $9 for the wood. I already had the standard ramps. There’s a little delay in the video because I thought I was already in the ramp cradle so I got out of the car to check.

    Without the adaptors, those metal ramps would tend to slide on the smooth concrete floor, when the tires first contact the front edge of the ramps.

    Thanks for sharing the video. I've been thinking about using regular metal ramps with extension on my PRIME, but after seeing your video, I am now too chicken to try it. I worry going over the ramp with too much step on the pedal. :(

    I was expecting it to possibly slide but there was no movement at all. I just went pretty slow.

    You should be fine, just go slow. It’s pretty easy to feel when you’re in the cradle. You could see when I stopped because I thought I was in the cradle but I was just between the wood and the ramp.

    After looking at the picture I was wondering if maybe I should put a second brace a little farther back where the wood is closer to the ground?

    Well, since I just changed my oil, I guess I have 10,000 miles before I have to worry about reinforcing it.
