SRS code 32 (B1650/32) how to do zero point calibration

    Hi all, we have a gen2 Prius that had the SRS light come on. Using the OBD2 jumper trick we read out code 32 (Occupant Classification System Malfunction).

    My research seems to show that a possible simple solution is a zero point calibration of the passenger seat sensor. Is it possible to do this without a scan tool? If not, what would be the least expensive scan tool that could do this... there are hundreds of models of scan tool out there and their capabilities are not at all clear.

    The best is class OBD2 code scanner for DIY would be a 'mini-vci' cable (under $20) and a copy techstream running under a windows OS (can also emulate), this is the same software that the dealer technicians use to test, diagnose, repair and calibrate with.

    +1 for mini VCI and techstream

    You can spend thousands on a scantool that probably does not have all the features of techstream - the aftermarket scanner might not talk to some modules, it might have certain tests or resets that just aren't there, or it claims to do something but really does nothing. BTDT.
