CCF01132010_00000 - Copy.jpg I took my III w/ solar pkg in for service yesterday. We have the type of drive way curbing that is roled and about 6" tall, to contain run off water for drainage when it rains here in the desert. Well, any way, every time I went out or came into my drive way or went over speed bumps at an angle, when it flexed or tourqued the car, there was a squawk or squeek coming from the console or passenger seat area. So I took it to the dealership and got a mechanic in the car and we drove around the dealership over speed bumps. At first, it wouldn't squeek so I ask him if he would mind sitting in the back seat, since there was never anyone in the front seat when it squacked. After he moved to the back seat and we went over a few speed bumps in the parking lot, he could hear it. Turns out there is a TSB out for it and a repair kit for it. I've attached a copy of my receipt in hopes it will be of some help ID'ing the TSB. I am now wondering, if the drivers seat should also be 'pinned', even though I don't hear it? I've never heard it in my Blue II, so I'm also wondering if it's just a solar /moon roof thing, since I'm sure that would make the car less stiff.
As always, all your expert thought are welcome!

Thanks, every little bit helps. While I am not experiencing any such noises, perhaps you could identify the TSB (not visible on my screen) or someone could post the actual TSB?

Google is my friend!!! I Googled the NV5011 number under Operation on the reciept and there it was ...http://www.toyotapart.com/FRONT_SEAT_SQUEAK_NOISE_T-SB-0288-08.pdf Now first off, why on earth didn't Toyota fix this obviously known issue on the GenIII before production and 2nd, why the clowns didn't replace both sides while it was in the shop, I do not know, but they will be replacing the other side the next time it goes in for service. I'm not going to have the drivers side start squeaking the day after the warranty expires.
While I was poking around, I also found this site that made for intresting reading on TSB's, though it didn't have the specific TSB I was looking for.

Thanks for finding that TSB. Too bad it doesn't list the torques for the seat bolts...

    This get me.
    The TSB clearly states:
    5. Remove the seat track locating pins.
    A. With the seat removed from the vehicle, tilt the
seat assembly backward to gain access to the
    seat track locating pins.
    B. Use a power cut-off tool to cut off the two (2)
locating pins leaving 2 mm (0.1 in.) or less of
    each pin.

The reciept states : INSTALL PINS IN PASSENGER SEAT TRACK

So what's up. why does the reciept say install when the TSB clearly says remove?

Probably just a service writer who doesn't know any better.
