Hi there, I have had the code C0210 for the last couple of months.
Prius 2011, 150,000 miles, C0210, The ABS, Slip and both brake warning lights are on.
The regenerative brake is not functioning. I already replaced the bearing hub and ABS sensor wire attached to the hub. The issue never got resolved.

A mechanic found out that the electricity is not coming from the wire inside of the body that is connected with the ABS wire harness.
So the problem seems to be inside of the body, wires that goes into ECU or ECU itself.
Should I open the body to see the wiring before taking it to the mechanic again?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

Brake a actutor failing possibly . Not sure what your mechanics trying to tell you not getting power into the module which I guess would be the brake actuator

Thank you very much for your reply!
The mechanic is guessing that somewhere in the wiring to ECU is damaged so he wants to open the interior parts to see the wiring from speed sensor to ECU. He already checked all fuses and they all seem fine...
My car came from the north and he said it's a common problem.

If I can find a mechanic who has the techstream, he/she can identify what the problem is?
Every mechanic who I asked didn't have the techstream...

I would have read that in the easiest way, as meaning the mechanic checked the right rear speed sensor and the little pigtail that connects to it, and now thinks tracing for the fault should continue with the wiring harness through the body (of the car) and up to where it connects to the skid ECU under the hood. That's exactly what the repair manual would suggest doing in step 7 of troubleshooting for C0210.

The manual wouldn't have you start by pulling a bunch of trim and carpet out of the car's interior, though. It would just have you unplug the connector to the skid ECU up front and use a multimeter from the appropriate pins of that plug back to the right rear sensor connection. That'll show you if there's a wire harness issue, and then you can have fun pulling up trim and carpet.

That's very good to know! I feel more comfortable asking him to do what he suggested to me.
I hope that he find a problem in the wiring not in ECU...

    Best regards,

    UPDATE

The mechanic checked all the writing from the rear tire to ECU and everything was fine.
So that means something is wrong with ECU sadly.
The mechanic told me there might be a recall for that.
I took it to the dealership and they did a recall repair on my car. The recall code was J0V and it is regarding ECU.

As a result, nothing really changed after the recall repair as well.
All the warning lights are still there.
It has been very frustrating so I may just give up on it and leave the problem at this point.

If anybody got any idea about this issue, please let me know!

While you were there, did they tell you what the problem was?
Okay, the ECU had a recall, they replace or fixed it, but you still have lights on???
And they just let it go? What about checking the other sensors? One of those could
    also be bad, or wiring....
No one seems to be doing a complete check of the system....

The mechanic told me that he checked all the wiring until the abs unit and he confirmed nothing is wrong.
He told me to go to the dealership to see if there is a recall for ECU since he thinks something is wrong with the ECU.
The dealer just updated the ECU and told me that they saw the warning lights. However, they didn't look into it nor fixed it. They asked me to make another appointment for that service since it is not a part of recall repair.
I have spent a lot of money for this so I just didn't feel like making an appointment today.
    So I left...

Well generally those lights being left on are either going to go out after a couple boot cycles or they're going to stay there and you still have remaining codes that some code reader will read several will do it but you know what I don't know which ones you have access to or any of that

You need to go to the Prius guy in Tampa. My mind is blank at the moment
but I know someone will chime in with his info.....

It's sad that they didn't check everything out for you, while you were there!
Or give you the option to do it. I know they don't have the business they wished
they had so you'd think they will try to get as much work as they could...

The J0V recall is about the power management control ECU and the car possibly going dead in the event of an inverter problem. If the recall had not been applied already, it is good to have had it done, but it has nothing to do with the brakes or the ECU that controls them, so there is no surprise in that original problem still being present.

    Yes, it's very disappointing...
Yea the mechanic guy said the problem is in the abs unit which ECU is located.
He didn't know how to deal with the ECU since he had to open the abs unit.
I will try to take it to Tampa hybrids whenever I save some money.
I can't afford to buy another abs unit or ECU at the moment anyways...

Thank you for your advise ChapmanF!!
    That totally makes sense!
Do you think if I take it to hybrid specialists, they can tell me what it is wrong with the ABS or ECU specifically?
I just don't want them to do the same procedure like the last mechanic did since I already paid for 4-hour labor to have him check all the wiring to the abs unit.

Sure, any decent shop with hybrid experience ought to be able to do the troubleshooting.

To avoid confusion, it helps to remember a Gen 3 Prius has about two dozen different ECUs in it. The ECU for the brakes is the one that's involved with these codes (and it's built into the brake actuator, not another part that could be replaced separately). So when talking with a shop it helps to not just say "the ECU" but be specific about which of the two dozen ECUs is meant. (Of course the shop should be able to figure that out when you come in talking about brake codes. But it can save time to be clear and make sure everyone is talking about the same thing.)

So you replacing the actuator in this vehicle no matter because the ECU is housed in that part and is not readily easily separable?. And then the Gen 3 the actuator is the part that's connected to the pedal? Or is the part with the pump in the accumulator?

Actuator is the top thing, connected to the pedal. Also called master cylinder, and booster, and skid ECU, because it is all of those things.

And because of the similar names, a person has to be really careful not to mix up the "booster" (top thing) with the "booster pump" (bottom thing), and not to mix up "actuator" (top again) with "accumulator" (bottom again).

The wife's 2010 just started running a lot The pump part which I guess is the lower part and it also has a code showing something about low pressure in the accumulator I just want to be clear and replace the right part I have not taken the mechanic stethoscope to listen to the upper portion to see if there's a leak there but it would seem to me the code I'm getting would indicate that the accumulator is leaking down which would seem to me to be on the accumulator and the pump part but lower portion is my thinking even kind of correct I can get both parts from the importers no problem.

I think u shud check the codes again. Here in Pakistan we get JDM pri and they have a lot of ABS issues. Get an OBD2 scanner and tell the latest codes again
