Someone is selling their Toyota Corolla 2019 Spare tire. Here is the Toyota Corolla 2019 Spare tire Description : SPARE,125-70-17 Can someone please confirm if this Spare will work for my 2017 Prius Prime Advanced. I have the regular 15" wheel. Much appreciate your response.
If you google "toyota tech info", that site has all the owner's manuals. Here's an excerpt from 2019 Corolla Owner's Manual, which you can compare to the spec's in your Owner's Manual. There's always an outside chance the rim has a different offset, bolt circle, lug nut seat style, but I doubt it. Looks like you're good: Interesting that they spec the same pressure front/rear too.
One more trick: go to McGeorge Toyota Parts site, enter your car spec , search for "wheel", look for result indicating wheel category, go there, and note the part number for temp spare rim. Then repeat the above exercise for the Corolla: if they are the same part number that's a clincher.
I went through the above exercise, and they were different numbers. Still, not sure if that would be a deal breaker: Wheel, Spare - Toyota (42611-02480) | Toyota Parts 2018 toyota corolla spare tire rim p/n: 42611-02480 Wheel, Spare - Toyota (42611-47631) | Toyota Parts 2017 toyota prius prime spare tire rim p/n: 42611-47631 Had to spec 2018 Corolla, for 2019 McGeorge Toyota only offered "accessories".
Thanks Mendel for looking into it. I am glad that I didn't bought the corolla spare. I am thinking it is safe to just buy a full wheel and tire from TireRack, as I cannot go wrong there. I only need this spare wheel+tire in the car, when going for a long drive (>100 miles). Within 100 miles AAA towing covers the tow.
If you're up for another can-o-worms: this full size corolla steel rim (black) should be compatible; Corolla 2003-2008 CE, LE, S 4 Cyl 1.8L 1ZZFE; ZZE130 (It's what I use with winter tires on our 2010.) The main advantage over an aftermarket steel rim: the hub opening is a match for Corolla/Prius/Matrix hubs, solidly locks. For temp spare use, maybe not that big of a deal though.
