The final allocation for August/into the start of September will bring 212 Prius to SoCal (in the middle to the end of September...) and they are all 2005 models. FYI!

    Dianne,

Was wondering if you could condense in one place allocations month by month so that it is easier to track shifts (increases, we hope) in what Toyota is sending to our shores on a monthly basis.

(P.S. Hope your stepson is healing quickly)

    Northern vs Southern California Allocations

    C. Rickey Hirose posted that Northern California is scheduled to get 864 cars in September. If we combine Dianne's late August/Early September number of 277 + this new post of 212 Southern California gets 489 for September. Dianne does this indicate that Northern California typically gets almost double the allocation? Or am I getting my monthly allocations combined wrong.

(P.S. Ditto for your stepson healing quickly)

Given the inaccuracies of the options packages, I'm not comfortable accepting CRH's Northern CA allocation numbers either. Would stick with Dianne for the real scoop.

    Just My Two Cents.

Rickey, you have no BJ package in Northern CA. I have no idea where that info emanated from, but the 6 packages I posted are national - the entire USA. Your Northern CA region will get BI, AM, or BC... but mostly BI at the atrt of the 2005 allocations.

In Southern CA, we get BI, GY, and BC and most of the Prii down here at the very start of 2005 are BC's.

I'd check my source if I were you. And, it's OK to make a mistake... there are worse things in life.

Diane, you are wrong on the packages that we are
getting for the 05's for NOr-Cal I'm getting 70 % BC and the rest are the BI,& AM.

I have checked my source, My Toyota Region have
it in print. I have just posted what they gave us to all Nor-Cal Toyota dealers.

Dianne, You have stated that you only get:
BI, GY, and BC. ? in southern california. How come?
what happened to all the package available to you
and you have posted to the Prius group.? Are they no longer available . ? what happened to those packages ? #1 through #6 ?

You have posted all these packages.

Much like your region, we get certain packages.
Of the 6 packages that are nationally offered, SoCal gets 3 of the 6.
Your own region, as you typed, gets 3 of the 6 offered as well. Two are same as mine, and one of them is different.
Your region gets BI, AM, and BC.
It's not hard to determine the mix, Ricky. I ran a SF region locate and did the math.

Why is that so incredulous to you?

We have a language and translation barrier here and I am losing patience with it.

Dianne, There is 4 packages available in my Region, BJ is one of them. However the BJ package
will take sooo looong to obtain so it is irrelevant to even mention but it does exist. Same as your advertised packages _1 thorough_6

I do not use the "National available packages" what's for ? my customers won't get them, so when
I posted our Nor-Cal September allocation did I post the BJ package? NO. Dianne, why are you loosing patience? I have not been chatting with you
I have answered to a few question posted from Priuschat group member only. So what patience.?

Ricky, first off, I have said I am losing patience because I dislike mis-information being posted. We do not have to "chat" for me to read your posts here.

That BJ package is complete mis-information. The package content that you posted - ie. what is IN a BJ package makes no sense, and it also is hard to swallow here that you have, suddenly, a package available that no one else nationally has. Add that to the explanation that "it will take so long to get that it is not even worth mentioning"...well, it's just stupid and I am posting to the contrary here.

Like I said, I stand by my original 6 package post, pricing, and all other info I have from national and regional sources.

I just checked the Kelley Blue Book website (kbb.com), and they show only packages 1-6. I have, in the past, found them to be accurate. However, I remember that their "other options" section changed significantly between 12/15/04 and sometime in January (they added all of the Gulf States and Southeast port options that weren't available elsewhere).

I don't doubt that Dianne has extremely accurate information. I also don't believe that Rickey would deliberately post something INaccurate. Since Rickey said he got his info from his region, it could be that his regional contact has made an error.

I think Rickey is providing a good service to the California Prius community, since (like Dianne) he posts allocation information and is with a high-volume dealer. I have never heard anything negative about him or his dealership, so I believe he is simply stating what he believes to be true. If his region is mistaken, I'm sure he'll update us at some point. It's pretty evident that if it DOES exist, it's not on a nationwide basis--so I suggest that we wait until the buyatoyota.com website updates to the 2005 info before we make judgements. Maybe this is a good reason to refer to the packages by their letter designation and not by the package number!

Thanks to BOTH Dianne and Rickey for taking the time to keep Californians updated on the allocation numbers!

I think so too. Mr. Hirose seems to have done a cut and paste (who would want to type all THAT in?) The AM package is missing several key features. His BJ package is closer than his AM package to the 2004 (and Dianne's 2005) AM. It would appear that the source information is suspect, not Mr. Hirose himself.

Just to record it here - According to Toyota, the 05 packages are:

    #1-GY
    #2-AG
    #3-BI
    #4-AM
    #5-AI
    #6-BC

the only thing I can think of is that Ricky confused BI with BJ

What's with the price increase? I thought is was to be $570 above the 2004 20,395 price. It looks closer to 1k above that. :x What's the deal?

Does the base MSRP on the Toyota website of $21390 perhaps include the $500 or so destination charge that gets added to all orders? I'm pretty sure that Dianne specifically stated in her first 2005 scoop posts that the prices she listed did not include the destination fees.

Hmmm... Maybe that's why that number looks different. Clicking on the [1] gave me a little legal disclaimer starting with this:

2005 Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, including the Delivery, Processing and Handling Fee.

So, maybe I'm seeing the same numbers from the dealer but they put them in seperately. Thanks for pointing that out to me. :)
