I saw an ebay auction for a computer once where the seller had poached the pictures. But instead of downloading and re-posting them. He linked directly to the pics. Well the person that owned the pics and the server where they were hosted figured it out and instead of removing them, uploaded new pics (with the same name) but showing a similar computer all beat to hell, run over with a car etc. One of the funniest things I ever saw.

Too bad you can't just replace the video.

By the way, the best part about the theft is when the person is confronted they claim not to remember where the content came from... even though the are still linking to it from the original source!

It's pretty bad when they don't ask permission or even provide a footnote.

I didn't know this was a bad thing, I thought it was just how the internet worked. I almost always include a link to the source site but sometimes forget. I guess people (me included) have a lot to learn about internet etiquette.

You can contact YouTube and claim copyright violation. It seems to work for the record companies.

Oops, nevermind. I was thinking that he posted it on YouTube.

You could add a comment giving the original link to your video on YouTube.

Unless it was edited out - I usually put © HTMLSpinnr in my vids.

Same goes w/ watermarking eBay photos.

Every couple of years, I see my airplane for sale. Airplanes have big "N" numbers on them is how I'm sure it's my picture. I hope that means that I have a nice looking airplane?:) Of course they aren't selling MY airplane, but I see my picture being used to represent their airplane.
    I just ignore it.

Just tried it again, saw it, yep I agree with the plagiarize word, get a rope!!!

He could at least note it was not his video, or give credit where credit is due!!

"To plagiarize" is a phrase he should become famiier with!!!!

You can always try a simple request email/letter. If not, I am sure you have a lawyer friend who could write a cease and desist letter for you.
