Swapped 2005 for a 2010 and unsure about a few features:

--2005 had buttons that would lock (upon touching) front driver and front passenger and back hatch doors, but I don't seem similar buttons on 2010 front passenger and back hatch. Nor does front passenger and back hatch doors get signal from key and automatically unlock on 2010. True?

--2010 has button to turn on AC remotely. How far away can you be for this button to still work, and for how long will AC work before car is started?

--When you get into 2010, do you need to depress the solar fan button to turn it off, and then depress it again when you stop to turn it back on, or can you leave button depressed so car fan always runs when parked?

--2005 seemed to have more zip, but have been driving 2010 in Eco mode. Anyone notice difference between 2010 Prius and previous models, and Eco and Power modes?

--2005 would automatically measure MPG per tankful, but 2010 only measures MPG on Trip A & B, but not by the tank. Yes?

    thanks,

    slappy

You'll see little lines in the door handle - those replaced the 'button' for locking. Hatch has a rectangular button for opening, and just to the right of it a circular button for locking.

The DVD that should have come with your manual answers some of your questions.

Congrats on your car and happy driving. :)

The one door SKS can be programed to unlock ALL doors. The rubber button has been replaced with groves at the front of the handle.

Very helpful; thanks for insights. One additional question...

Can I upgrade, or do i have any other options, to get all three doors to be able to lock with touch of button?

    * If I understand your question correctly, you're asking if the doors can be locked with one touch of the Doorhandle Lock area...and the answer is...YES!

If you ment to ask can all three be UNLOCKED with the SKS, the answer is also YES! It explains in the manual (pg. 43 or maybe 48) the proceedure to do that, you can also do a search for that on this forum.

But as with most modern cars, while it is -possible- to install options the car didn't come with, usually the wiring harness doesn't have the wires needed, so you would have to add them. Also some options require different versions of other equipment (radio and nav for example). So adding an option not included in manufacture can be rather expensive. The exception is "dealer installed options". Three door SKS is not one of those.
