...and I'm not talking McDonald's. I just bought a used 2007 Touring Edition (with 64k miles). It's a beauty (Storm Cloud Gray, Leather, Heated Seats, premium sound and all the bells and whistles), and I'm hoping it is as reliable as other Toyotas I've owned ('76 Corolla and '89 Camry Wagon).

This is my first Prius and first Hybrid. I'm averaging about 45-46 (better to work at sea level than home from work rising again), but I've been driving it relatively aggressively (merging at 65 mph, passing when I feel like it), so I've satisfied the performance skeptics and can now play with efficiency.

I'll mostly be lurking and doing some reading. I reckon I should get the pcv valve checked at my first oil change. I'll probably replace the Bridgestone Potenzas next fall with Nokians or Hankooks in pre for winter (have WR g2s on the Outback I've replaced and loved them). I have a '92 Silverado for heavy snow situations anyway, but I like the idea of being ready.

Feel free to reply to this thread or pm me if you have any advice on tires, touring editions, heated seats and complications, pcv valve or other things to look for on a 2007 pushing 65k.

Paulieprius: we sold the '76 Corolla in 1995 (bought it used in the mid-eighties for $1400 and sold it in 1995 for $1600!!--yeah...drove it for 10 years and made 2oo bucks) Sometimes I really wish I still had it.

People laugh at me first time they see heated seats in a car in Italy. Every winter I smile at them

User37: I totally agree. I used the heated seats in my Subaru just about every month except June, July, and August. Once I had them, I couldn't live without them. It's not so much about staying warm...it just feels good!

Liquicells! Never heard of them before but just read the link. That sounds nice. Are they hard to install?

Now that I have begun to think about efficiency, I'm getting 48-49mpg on my second tank during interstate and surface road commutes to work.

One day when running errands downtown, I got it up to 50.5 mpg.

ML Diggs - not at all! All they did was literally lay the pads flat down under the leather upholstery.. took.. 4 minutes? makes all the difference.
