    Hello everyone,

Thank you for any insight. Took the Prius V into the dealership for a recall ~ software update. To shorten a very long story, a part got fried and we are now nearly 2 weeks still waiting on a "Power Control Module" (aka Body Control Unit). Dealership is stating the part has not yet arrived and is on what they are calling "Manual Release."

Anyone know what "Manual Release" means in terms of why the part has not yet arrived?

Can't be ordered "normally", online, must be cleared through (several levels of) manual approval?

There is no software update for the Prius v. Do you have a Prius liftback trim level 5?

his posts mention 2012 v, and avatar a 2010 lift back IV. a bit confusing, but it must be the '10.

He says he has a model year 10 so that isn't a v. May have two cars.

Apologies for not mentioning the year. 2010 Prius V. My guess was approval as well, however not understanding why approval would take so long. Parts department states the part was ordered that same day (day 1).

(yes, have a loaner; vehicle is a shop runner car, because 'all' the rentals were out. a week later returned looking for a larger loaner and, again, 'all' rentals were out)

Problem here is you posted in the Prius v forums. You own a gen III. Priuschat has been and continues to be messed up so I cannot move this thread. So I'm closing it and you, the OP, can repost it in the appropriate forum, gen III maintenance and troubleshooting. Thanks.
