It's not that I'm insecure about my color choice or anything, but wondering what people who don't generally post, but do vote in polls, think.

In honor of a certain other thread, I suppose I should have added "It's gay."

I voted "I hate it". I know hate's a strong word, but I think the color looks very washed out and I really really really really don't like it. :) But also keep in mind, to each his/her own.

From what I can tell it looks like the people that dont' like it REALLY don't like it. I think it's OK. Wouldn't be my first choice but I'd be happy with it.

That gold and green prius from another thread was truely "butt crack" ugly. I think that silver pine could really only ever be considered homely.

LOL... it would definitely be my dead last choice. If I did by chance end up with SPM, my next appointment would be with a paint shop to have the car repainted in my color of choice. :D

Sorry but I had to vote I hate it as well. Hey, there are colors I like that others hate but for me that color is just too light/washed out looking. I would have liked to see a darker more emerald metallic green.

SPM doesn't have the personality, the (occasional) joie de vivre , the (occasional) raw power, the...well, never mind. B)

DH & I had previously decided our next new car (hybrid) was going to be green. His '04 Camry is blue, which we are keeping. However, we checked out the silver pine mica on a Sienna (only vehicle on lot in that exact color) and we both were vastly disappointed. I convinced DH that two blue cars were okay. LOL He agreed to my first choice of seaside pearl IF I agreed to driftwood pearl as the second choice AND that we would accept whichever came in first. Done. :D Anything but all that pale icky green... and I typically love greens...

That's strange. The last two years I haven't liked Driftwood at all---guess I've mostly seen it in the shade, where it can look drab. I was all psyched when I first heard the words "silver pine mica", as my feelings have changed such that I now want SOME color on the greenish side (Seaside had been my first choice).

Now I think I want Driftwood. I'll just have to drive around with a huge, clamp-on, canopied sunlamp over my '06.

I voted "hate it". I saw it on person on an 06 Sienna. With all the orange and red Yarises on the lot, the SPM Sienna didn't really stand out. It sorta blended in behind the silver one. And yeah, whoever mentions that it looks washed out isn't exaggerating. They need to bring back:

Silver Spruce Metallic, Dark Emerald Pearl, Electric Green Mica, Imperial Jade Mica and Tideland Pearl. Come to think of it, most of the dark green mentioned will match.

I stood in the dealer's lot staring at a SPM Sienna trying to convince myself that it was as ugly a color as folks here say it is. It was a partly cloudy day, so I saw it in both sun and shade. Finally, I couldn't lie to myself. I like the color. Maybe it's because I like lima beans. My '06 will be either SPM or Barcelona.

Well I hate to be one of the only people that thinks Silver Pine Mica is a good looking color, but my wife and I were going to order a 2006 in Seaside Pearl until our salesman called to say he had a SPM ’06 on the lot. After seeing it in person we both agreed it was a beautiful color.

We had previously driven down to see SPM on an Avalon and didn’t like it, ‘too green on too large a car’, but on the smaller Prius it was just right.

The new Bisque interior is very different than last years Ivory, much less yellow. Makes a great combination. It can be seen on Toyota’s website.

I guess, as was said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    LOL.

"umpf, who left these dirty muddy claw marks"
"Sorry marge, Pinchy got all dirty in the yard chasing birds, but don't worry! I put her in a nice, warm bath."
    "Hey, what smells so good?"
    "Yeah... Pinchy? Pinchy!!!!!"

Shoot, it's in today. Maybe I can buy it, see how I really like the color, sell it when the demand rises in January and buy another Prius then to take the tax credit. Ahhhhh!!!!

I've heard our local dealer was selling used Prii for more than new ones. Said they couldn't mark up the new ones, but had a used one marked up and knew it would go quickly. Wish I could believe all that and convince my bank of it.
