Both occurrences have been happening more frequently; like 3 x's in the last week....which prompted this post. Would this be a warranty issue? #1. Battery indicator shows 2.9; then immediately disappears after coming to a stop #2. While stationary at a stop light 0 mph, MPG indicator is ZERO (no bars displayed). Leased my plug in 15 months ago; 28,800 miles to date. Thoughts?
After acceleration the battery indicator light displays that message that car doesn't have enough charge for EV.....Wth??? No, its 3 years 60k miles. Zero drive-off, $445/month I do recall turning on the heat "HI" on high...so maybe that's the cause?
Could be. If you accelerated to 55 mph after a stop, it could zap a lot of juice. Perhaps 2.9 miles was optimistic based on your driving history. Once you turn on the heat, the estimate could become 1.5 miles. Then acceleration and some driving used it up quickly. That would be my guess. Pay more attention next time. Maybe something is not right with the car.
Sorry I can't be of any help with the issue your having. I didn't realize a 60k mile lease was even possible! Seems like you drive a lot so you picked a great car (just have to figure out this issue) and a good lease deal.. have you taken it back to the dealer to get checked out? Did you buy extended warranty to cover you through the end of your lease term?
turning on hvac (aka fan) should only drop the displayed estimate about 10%. nothing in o/p's #1 makes any sense, especially since he says it's been 'happening more frequently'.
