    8) Get your meds changed and reattach to reality. Oil is not going away in this lifetime.

Hate to break the reality check to you, but it is necessary.

just hit 682mpg average for the last 30 days!

trading the pump for the plug is easier than I thought it would be.

There are addiction programs, support groups to help with your crack addiction. Be patient, take good care of yourself, seek out support and be patient. Weening off of crack takes time.

    Good Luck,

Congrats.. nice result. Just curious are you still using fuelly? they cannot handle that type of performance.. anything over 200mpg per tank and the just don't compute/accept it. So your fuelly at 191 is probably wrong. I've written to them multiple times but have given up for now.

Also you might resiter your car at EPA.. who also tracks real-world data. and they can now handle (though give warning about) Volt level MPG performance. Personally I also list kWh (I used voltstat data and my own spreadsheet to compute stuff).

DBCassidy, I don't have any first hand experience with crack addiction, but thanks for your insight and good luck with your recovery.

I will light a candle (well maybe an led) for you.

I should break the fuelly 200mpg ceiling when I add some gas in the next few weeks. I need to get another car wash soon so I might get another gallon to get the discount.

why yes. And the ignore even removes them from replies.. so your message looked like it was just a post without a reply so it should be interpreted based on the previous message. Just unignored to see what it was about.. so funny yet so sad.

I don't ignore 1701a as he has understanding/knowledge and on other threads is a meaningful contributor (even somewhat irrational about the Volt), so I consider it worth my time to help him see the light. Some people don't contribute enough to be worth the energy per aggravation.

What are the chances you guys will stop the addiction to personal attacks on each other and try to keep to some semblance of civil discussion?

I will try, I am just baited way too easily.

BTW, I should have replied with something like "spoken like an oil addict". "crack addict" was uncalled for and implied that I know something personal about dbcassidy, which I don't.

    7) Get a plug-in that best matches your daily driving requirements.

I can't believe on my first week with a plug-in I was able to meet all my and additional family driving needs by covering 362 miles while only needing to use .78 gal of gas. That's with a 120v charger; a 240 would be all my local needs and only needing the ICE for out of town. My longest EV drive was 55.4 miles on one charge.

Yes, please disregard DBcass. He brings nothing but noise to the dialog; no signal.

Good tip. I should have done that long ago. Done now. Interesting that it removed post that include any replies to him/her. (How to: user ID drop down then "People You Ignore")

Actually it includes the post with replies, .. just not the actual content of the reply (how I got confused.. in this thread).

    Can you guys hear me?
I would say "buy a Prius", not buy a plug-in in the OP.
You are advocating a certain left-of-center political position bias on fuel-of-choice.

    I "hear" all. :)

Once you experience true EV driving, it's game over.

Electricity isn't a fuel. In fact, one of the reasons for its support is that it allows a vehicle to be propelled by a wide range of fuels and limit it to a single one.

How would buying a Prius wean you off an addiction to gasoline? Do they have a non plug Prius that runs on something other than gasoline?

I may not visit the gas station again with the Volt until 2013.
