I drive a 2019 Prius Limited. It has 44,800 miles and the required service message has pop up. What service is required at 45,000 miles?
    Thabks for the help.

That's your service reminder that'll pop up every 4500 miles. Your maintenance book will tell you what need to be done every 5000 miles. If you rely on the Toyota service writers - they'll sell you service that's not required or needed.

PS: your beyond your 3yr/36K mile bumper to bumper warranty and on the cusp of your 5yr 60Kmile power-train warranty; ask the dealership to make sure you've got all the latest software updates in that car. Software updates fixes/corrects know bugs that people have found, operating the car in the 'real world'.

The Toyota USA maintenance schedule is in the Warranty and Maintenance Booklet. If that's missing you can download a pdf from Toyota Tech Info, in the "manuals" tab.

It's an event-by-event style schedule, so kinda maddening, say if you want to see frequencies of the various services. Attached is a spreadsheet summary I cobbled:

At 5-years, I change out all the coolant and clean the throttle body and MAF sensor. If you have an AWD, change out the rear fluid in that electric engine. Not much else to worry about in these hybrids!

Maybe worth noting: I’m just transcribing, trying to stick to what Toyota says. I’d advocate some extras, and question the necessity of some, but my intent with the spreadsheet is just to clarify their instructions.

FYI in Canada Toyota’s schedule have had their ups and down. For our ‘10 it was a virtually unreadable mess, covering every vehicle they sold here (in ONE schedule), a rambling/complicated and pretty much unintelligible statement, which motivated (pretty much by necessity) to make my first spreadsheet summary.

in 2014 model year (at least first year I noticed) they had an amazing renaissance, published a wonderful, table format schedule (attached). Then in 2016, advent of 4th Gen, they CEASED printing a schedule, directed you to the Toyota Canada website, where there’s this interactive “tell us the miles and we’ll tell you what’s needed” nonsense.
