I've seen many comments about taller drivers not being comfortable in the latest Prius, but few about shorter drivers. Will someone five-feet-nothing be able to pilot this spaceship?

Maybe a trip to a dealership with the model of Prius you are going to purchase and some wife fitment in that prius would work out best for you.

Introducing car and driver is the plan. Doesn't hurt to ask....(and the 2025s aren't in yet.)

I would guess that the driver fit in a '24 is the same as in a '25 model. And if no '25's are in yet, how would anyone be able to comment on driver fit in a '25 ?

My wife 5’-3” and I, 5’-8” have no issues seeing the dash. The seat height is adjustable and steering tilts and telescopes. I bought the vehicle without having ever sat in one and my only complaint is that there are significant blind spots from the “A” pillars extending so far forward. I don’t think it’s a great choice for tall or large people since I find it snug for getting in and out.

We found that a soft seat cushion helps make the seating more comfortable in our Gen4 Prius. My wife (now slightly under 5' ) due to the boost, can now see the road better.

some people say it's fine, some say it's great, some say it's an issue. i couldn't get beyond the hatch size.

Thankfully my wife had no issues either, being able to get comfortable and still see everything.

The hatch and luggage room is definitely smaller. The whole car seems smaller on the inside than previous generations, and visibility isn't great. Loading up the car with four people and camping equipment for a cross-country drive, like we did in our last Prius, doesn't seem feasible. In comparison, driving home from the dealership in our 2004, I felt like I was sitting straight up in a greenhouse.

But don't take any of that to mean I don't want one.

This is a nonissue. Lower the steering wheel and raise the seat so that you can see the gauges over the steering wheel—no matter how short you are.

it's all about compromise imo. if i hadn't wanted to go full bev, i might have changed my mind.
but after driving a small suv, i'm not sure i could go back to the low seating at my age. even our hycam is becoming more and more difficult to get in and out of.

I'm a bit on the taller side and notch the seat back at least two click. Japanese car seat backs are always straight up and down in it's home position. I also adjust the wheel down a bit, otherwise I couldn't clearly the old drivers displays. That isn't an issue any more, now that they moved everything to the middle.

Love this description. After testing a 2023 that’s exactly what it felt like. Will miss my 2009 when the time comes.

2025 should be the same fit. I’m 5’3”. Initially when test driving I adjusted the seat all the way up in order to be at the height I prefer but then realized my head was almost hitting the headliner and the steering wheel was in my lap. : / This position also caused me to hit my head on the way out.

During another test drive I decided to keep the steering wheel at its highest position and then adjusted the seat so that I had enough leg space. I also moved myself back a little so that I was far enough away from the steering wheel for safety. (Women often sit too close to the steering wheel) This final position does keep me from seeing the bottom of the digital display but it’s not info I need every moment.

I will be buying a cushion as well. Not sure what I’ll do in 10 yrs.

Have you 'jacked' your seat all the way up? If you pull the lever, it will jack-up the seat - push down and the seat will move down. The adjustment is only a few inches, but that may be the difference in a seat cushion or not.

    Hope this helps.....

Thanks. When I jacked it all the way up, it was almost hitting my legs. I am glad I ordered the XLE with easier seat adjustments that’s for sure.

Could be worse - you could be 6'2". My little brother is 6'3" and hitting his head made the car a no go for him. I have the wheel and seat all the way down so I can rest my elbows and hold the wheel.

I just deal with having to turn sideways before I can fit my right leg under the wheel to get out.

We have the XSE and I am 6'4" and have no problems. I adjust the driver's seat all the way down and back, and then adjust the seat back. This leaves me with about 2-3 inches of headroom. I can the display without having to adjustment the steering wheel. I leave it where my wife (who is about 5'6") sets it.

I'm 6'0" and do the same. It's more room than my old Prius C, hair used to touch the roof liner - no sunroof..o_O
It would be nice to have more lower lumbar- and thigh- support for those long road trips. I just need a rest stop every few hours to stretch out.

I'll bet you'll bang your knees against the dash board a few times to remind you that you just can't jump into it. I do that a couple of times a year.:whistle: It feels really good when you hit your funny bone - only done that once.:censored:
I'll sometimes reach in and use the grab handle, if I'm particularly sore after a run or something. I'm surprised I haven't broke it yet.

If we are in the realm of nice, it would be nice to have the wheel come a few inches farther back. I'm guessing the six foot part of the japanese market is slim.
