I'm not sure if this has been covered in another thread...

Is it just me or is anyone else disappointed with the temp of the seat warmers?

It's a chilly, wet 56° out today and I decided, after being in very cold air conditioning all morning at work, to use the seat warmer on the way home. I never did feel any real warmth after about 10 minutes in the car.

I left the car in ON when I got home and turned on both the warmers. I set a timer for 5 minutes (now a total of 15 minutes for the drivers seat) and returned to feel very little warmth as I passed my hand over each seat.

I am reading in PC that other heated seats get very warm. Is it time for a service appt?

I would hope that you wouldn't feel much heat only by passing your hand over the seat...if so they would be REALLY hot.

I tried mine the day I picked my car up (June), and they warmed up within a minute ore two for sure. We haven't had cold enough weather to try them out since then, though.

I'd try them again, and if you're sitting there and don't really notice them, for sure take it in to the dealer. (or maybe have someone else's buns try it out...just in case yours aren't very sensitive) ;)

Go try it in your pj's (or lack of, tee hee hee), and see if you can feel them.

I would have the dealer check this. I have seat warmers in my other car (A Seibring convertible). They have different settings. It is unbearably hot on high. I was disappointed that our new Prius had only one setting, but I have tried it several times, and I really like it. It is "Just Right" hot for me (although DH would like it hotter). Be aware, that they will shut off after a set amount of time, and then re-cycle back on again. But overall I am happy with them. Get yours checked.

dmvp, I am reasonably sure that my buns are quite sensitive thank you very much. lol

Really, my husband (the insensitive one) doesn't want anything to do with the warmers, so I will have to find another innocent victim to test them.

Hmmm I tried mine out the other day and they were fine. (I rather wish they didn't automatically turn off!) But they were plenty warm! Sounds like a trip to the dealer for you. :(

Mine warmed up fine the other morning when it was 7°C out and I decided to use the seat heaters. It didn't get as hot as our 02 Camry (thank god.. that one was a scorcher!) but it works well so far. The real test will be when it hits -30°C =).
