There was an interesting program on the tube last night: Scientific American Frontiers: Future Car (PBS). The program examined the latest big three Detroit efforts toward alternative fuels, and listed "breakthroughs" like hybrid power, storage of hydrogen in solid form (like the Prius battery), and drive by wire. The prototype driven by Alan Alda was jerky and unpredictable.
Replay but a good one. One of the things I like about public TV is that they replay things in a short space of time so I can catch them.
