Hello! I purchased a used 2022 Prius Prime LE a few months ago, and have been charging using the scheduled departure feature nearly every day so it's ready to go by 7:00 am. Recently there have been some changes; the weather has frequently been below zero, and I haven't had to leave the house in the morning. I have found that if I don't unplug the charger before 9:00 am it turns back on, and takes until nearly noon to return to a full charge. Does anyone know what's going on here?
you need to check your car's time and date is set correctly, and the charging schedule. The car's 12V battery may be low and caused a system reset. That'll throw everything out of wack. A low 12V battery will cause all kinds of weirdness on these cars, especially in the cold - which your probably familiar with. I too had intermittent charge schedule issues in the beginning. Been back to the dealership twice - no problem found. I finally figured out that someone at the dealership set the wrong date in my car's ECU, so my days of the week was messed up - ergo intermittent charge schedule glitches. BTW, the gen4 scheduling system doesn't warn you about scheduling conflicts and overlaps - it just does what you tell it to do. So you may want to lay out the charging schedule on a day-timer calendar before entering it in your system to prevent conflicts. Hope this helps....
Thanks!!!! The time and date are correct, I had to fix that when I first started scheduling the charging. I will look into the 12V battery possibility, since I bought it used it wouldn't surprise me if that was the issue.
