That kind of stuff just represents how little they care about your safety or maintaining your vehicle. You only spent $52 for $25 worth of work. You have to spend a lot more than that for them to care and even then it does not mean that they will bother to put a gauge on your tires. It's too much trouble and after all, it could mean that your tires would also last a little longer and what profit is there in that. If they used an OEM filter you are lucky. The engine oil is probably bulk oil from the lowest bidder. Your engine takes 5w-30, but they could be using it for other Toyotas that are spec'd for 5w-20. Find an independent shop with trained mechanics that have a clean shop and care about you as a customer. Get references, after all it's your twenty thousand car, your safety and hard earned money. You're lucky you found out what kind of dealer you have, so cheaply. In the mean time go back and complaign to the service manager. Take a coke and some popcorn and enjoy the performance. What ever he/she says it means, "I'm stupid and just want your money. You're stupid, too. We're a great dealer and have a certifacte to proove it. Here is a coupon for a free oil change. We screwed up your service and would love to do it again".

 

it's an express lube. i don't recommend express lubes. the word "express" seems to be of more importance than anything else and the people running the places are usually any joe blow off the street, not ase certified techs.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I just had my state inspection and 2 of my tires shouldn't have past. I don't think they checked anything, just charged me for it.

If I'm not mistaken, that's exactly the differential. I don't have the manual in front of me, but I think the front tires are recommended 33 psi and the rear 35. I may be wrong, though.

I think it's the other way around, 35 front/33 rear. Of course, as you may be aware, most of us here use higher pressures for a variety of very good reasons. 42 front/40 rear seems to be what a lot of PC people are using. I use 44 pounds in all four.
