Hey guys, can I get a quick sanity check before I pick this HID kit up? Just want to make sure the bulb type is right and this company is decent... the HID threads are a mess. Also, slim ballast is better for conserving space in the engine bay and mounting, right?

That does not matter. The OP is from California, and they all think that they are above the law:cool:... until they wind up in jail.

If you're going to scream illegal you might as well not visit this modifications forum because many of the mods we do here are technically not llegal, including non-DOT approved turn signal mirrors and taillights.

I wasn't really looking at the legality of it so much as asking if this would be a good kit. Technically it's even illegal to use a non-OEM bulb in a factory HID setup. Also, Teak, I don't know why you feel the need to be insulting, but I'm actually from Nevada.

  6. Hey Voltic,

That kit should be fine, just get the relay harness to avoid flickering. I have a few friends who've installed kits with and without the relay harnesses in their cars....they all say said next time around they would definitely use the relay harness.

I did not realize I was screaming, I thought I used both upper and lower case letters.

I do not normally reply to 'mod' requests*, but he specifically requested a sanity check, so it seemed worthwhile to provide one. I am one of the lucky ones, my Prius came with wheels AND a radio, no need to buy them seperately.

*I never visit any forum, I just click on unread posts.

So if you found a house you wanted to buy and the only one like it had hot pink walls in one room, you wouldn't change it because that's just how the house is? No need to hate on a little personalization.

Ha! I actually bought a house with one room in fluorescent hot pink. It still is, as is the orange room. (although it no longer has a lime green ceiling) I drew the line at the room with four colored walls: hot pink, orange, lime green. and purple. It is now slate blue on two walls and beige on two walls.

My Prius has grill blocking, a sun shade for the MFD, a business card holder/change drawer, rear bumper protector, 35% tinted windows, genderless jumper cables and a center hump cubby. None of which needs be in a Mods thread and none of which is cosmetic. I spent way more effort getting JUST the right ladder. (Werner MT-17)

Going off-topic a bit, how is that display shade? It looks big and clunky on the product pages but it's just a picture.

It works great but is held by velcro, so it needs adjustment every so often. I make it worse by placing the scangauge on it.
