    Hello everyone.
I finally have finished installing my SGT as my main head unit.
The dash is not 100% finished but the concept and idea is fully implemented.

The tab is fully functional and the sound is running though a bluetooth kit to an EQ and a pair of amps.
I tweeked the connections so that I will have at least control of the volume using the steering wheel controls as well.
A few apps that I like installed on the SGT are the Dash command that connects to the OBDII by bluetooth.

Also I change up the home screen to easily access my music, pandora, movies, Navi and more.

Just a note that the dash command is running on demo mode at the time of the pictures. I am not going 112 MPH on the pic.

This is very cool. I had been looking at a Vais unit and had also thought why not just put in a tablet? How does the screen hold up in the sunlight? Can you still see it properly? Also, where did you get the bluetooth kit(s) for the audio and ODBII?

Nice! How is the fit? Any cutting involved?

How did you get the blue surround on the shifter? Looks great, BTW.

The dash kit had to be cut to fit the tablet. I wanted to make it so that I can take out the tab easily. The bluetooth kit for the obdii was purchased from the dash command site. The audio bljetooth kit was purchased from scoche. I will get done day time picks up soon.

The mod looks great!!! So would this cost more than buying a actual rosen unit installed? How do you like it so far?

Keep in mind - you could run one of those Chinese WINCE devices, and add an ODBII WinCE app (low cost)...

Looks like the Pioneer Z120/130, F20/F30 series are finally starting to be hacked (WinCE) - which should open up the ODB stuff too (Hacks/Mods - AVIC411.com)!

This is quite ingenious though :D

Well Cost is going to be hard to calculate.
Everything but the SGT was sponsored.
I would suspect around $1,000 for all the equipment.
Still comes out to be about the same but minus the installation and custom work.

I have come up with a way to install the SGT, still have your radio, stearing wheel controls and use the aux in cable that comes standard on the car.

    Here it is:
    1. The custom dash will have to be purchased or done somewhere near you.
    2. Need a Samsung Galaxy Tab
    3. Take apart the stock radio's face and just have the main unit. You will have to wire the radio first and save all the stations you want first then remove the face plate to give room for the SGT and dash mount. (trust me there is enough room).
    4. mount back the stock radio.
    5. run the wires for the SGT ie. aux in wire from under the side arm rest & power.
    6. Mount the SGT to the custom dash and put everything back together.

With this you will have full sound, control of the radio and the steering wheel controls
have the sound from the SGT run through your aux input. Done and finished.
Cost you only the price of the SGT and the custom mount. I would suspect the dash work will cost a minimal amount. I will have a dash kit possibly ready if anyone wants to buy it from me. Keep a look out on the classifieds.

I will try to post pictures of this process.

Gotta say, nice work. Creative. I'm guessing that the SGT is 3G to get Nav to work. Some questions? Are you using Google Nav or some other 3rd Party Nav? Does voice Search and Commands work through the Stereo Mic/Speakers? Thanks

Good work, but daytime picture will be helpful to understand the setup. How about CD slot?

Dash Command is $50. Does it support custom PIDS for the Prius? I have been playing around with an app called Torque. It does support custom PIDS for the Prius. Here is a pic of it monitoring MG1, MG2, ICE RPM and Temp.

Which OBDII device do you have?

It appears the developer doesn't have Prius so he couldn't test it out. It is great to see it working on Gen3. I wonder if it works for Gen2.

MG1 RPM appears to be incorrect. It should go from +10,000 to -10,000.

What is the "Revs rpm"? Is it the ICE? If so, it shouldn't go beyond 5,200 rpm.

All those gauges scale as needed.

It is the ICE. All the gauges scale as needed.

It looks like you drove in EV mode. MG2 temp actually went down.

Do you have a list of supported PID for Prius? Can you add custom PIDs?

I had my cell phone set to take screen shots every 20 seconds. The two pics above were taken at random times.

I belive he supports all the PIDS listed in the google spread sheet posted here in the forums.

You can add your own PIDS and show the data a million differnt ways.
