How did Prius sales go in your country in 2010? What was its market share compared to the top-sellers and cars sold overall?

Here is the data from Finland. I'd be very interested to see it from other countries as well. Maybe we could compile world-wide record.

    Percent SUM
    Prius 0.421 % 465
    VW Golf 5.762 % 6360
    Skoda Ocatavia 4.816 % 5316

    Toyota Avensis 4.277 % 4721
    All cars 100.000 % 110374

Can you give us ball park figures of the prices.
In Israel a record 215k cars were sold.
The leaders were Mazda and Hyundai with over 30K and Toyota over 22K in third.
    When i get Prius # i'll post.
In Israel Avensis and Prius cost almost the same.

Bob gave up from PC as the protest against accident thread censorship. It is how I understood his leaving message.

    Prius prices starts from 31940€
    VW Golf 19914€
    Skoda Octavia 19349
    Toyota Avensis 24349

So I guess Prius is a bit over priced in Finland.

Prius about the same as here - all the rest a lot cheaper in Finland.
Taxes are extremely high in Israel but Hybrids do get a break to make them attractive. In fact if and when electic cars arrive here they will be taxed even less.
    Thanks
    Danny

Finally saw sale figures for 2010

Only just under 1500 Prius were delivered in 2010.
Still the #1 hybrid beating the Insight by about 130 cars.
HCH sold only about 100 and total Hybrids under 3000 (about 1.4% of total)
The previous record for the Prius was almost double.
I am rather surprised as there were record car sales in 2010 and Toyota also broke it previous record (over 15,000 Corollas were sold). Of course it was the first year of the Insight which sells for about $6000 less and not much more then a Corolla. Hope Hybrid sales go up this year with the Gas now selling for about $7.50 a gallon. ;)
There was an interesting trend in 2010 to buy very small (Suzuki Alto, Hyundai I10, Peuguet 107) and even manual cars that are effecient and cost half or less what the Prius goes for - of course they cars are uncomparable except in fuel efficiency and emissions. :)

But the latest Octavia Greenline does have some interesting fuel economy ratings (despite being a despicable diesel).

    UK Prius figures;

    2008 9,042
    2009 7,941
    2010 11,000 Projected (9,000 end Sep 2010)

In lists of top 20 selling cars in the US, Prius is usually found in the high teens, as in #18 or #17 in recent years.

Interestingly, F150, Silverado trucks are always within top 5 and Honda Accord I've often seen at #3. Civic, Camry, Corolla, and Fusion in top 10.

2010 Prius sold like 66k units in US first 6 months of 2010, Accord sold about 160k units.

There's some work to do there considering Prius can get 2x fuel economy over an Accord any day.
