I celebrated my 2007 Prius' 190,000th birthday with a bottle of Martinelli's last month. She was in great shape, and I was hoping we would make it to 250,000. Unfortunately, she met her untimely death yesterday after getting rear-ended by an F-250. The rear frame, hatchback door, and bumper are all mangled. Hatchback doesn't open. But the car actually still drives just fine, with the exception of the back lights not working. Both batteries seem to be unaffected. Engine has no issues. Tires are almost brand new. Everything from the hatchback forward is totally usable. I'd like to sell it off to a scrap yard so the parts can be salvaged by other owners. I have no knowledge of scrap values, but I suspect the first two scrapyards I called lowballed me pretty bad by offering $100-200. Anyone have any idea what I should be able to get for this thing? I thought just the catalytic converter alone was worth a few hundred.
That's awful Glad you're okay. Old faithful came through for you right to the end, protecting you from severe injuries with her collapsible impact zones. "It is better to have loved and lost.......().....than never to have loved at all...." She was a good landspeeder; her memory will live on in those who cherished her faultless service. NUU_M3 ?
If yours has nav/jbl I could sure use several parts for cash to you before you sell it for scrap: Nav DVD. Gas cap. Floor mats. Cargo cover. Some plastic parts interior and exterior. Fog lights. Headlights Auto level assembly. Charcoal emissions canister. Tires/wheels. Is your HV battery new?
Maybe also front end stuff for somebody. Front bumper, radiator, core support, hood, fenders, headlights etc.
