reset maintenance required light 2012 model Four

pg 403 of the user manual gives the following sequence to reset the maintenance required light:

1) set ODO to Trip A
2) power off the vehicle
3) holding down the kph/MPH button, power up the vehicle
4) continue holding the kph/MPH button until the Maintenance data reset has completed.

I had to do this twice before it worked for me, but I may have goofed somewhere the first time.
Please note this sequence is different than the one described for the 2010 models...
