Ok, bought a replacement sks fob case. Swapped it out and everything works perfectly except the key in the slot? Wth? Pull it out and the car will recognize the smart key and start. It just won't start while in the dash slot. Ideas? Yes I checked the button under the dash.

You haven't swapped everything. It is a common trap for new players, there is an RFID chip on one half of the old case, this needs to be transferred over to the new case.
