Replace pvc from below ,might as well install cat shield,occ

New old guy 2010 230k.
Ill feel better with a cat shield so I might as well replace pvc from below.
Do i need to disconnect hybrid battery? Will that cause reset problems?
Now i might as well add the oil catch can too!
I saw a youtuber put a plain hose plug where the pvc goes.He ran 2-3 ft hose up to easy to reach spot under hood.He installed a new pvc inline inhose pointing upwards near the oil catch can .
He said this takes it away from the low oil catching spot on the engine and pointing up would reduce oil blowing out.
Good Idea?
