Anyone have some advice on replacing the upstream oxygen sensor on the manifold? At least I think that is where it is located from what I have read. I have been looking for some instruction on this and have not found much. I located a downloadable shop manual that I may purchase if I can find out if this repair is covered. I was told the cat converter needed to be replaced and before I dropped $2000 on a 12 year old car I thought I might try to replace the O2 sensors first. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Yes, I agree this is a reasonable approach. techinfo.toyota.com is a subscription website containing official Toyota repair manual information.
So far so good. Both sensors replaced and no check engine light, at least for the first 75 or so miles. Keeping my fingers crossed....
Keep us posted as this information may help somebody else down the line like myself as I have an older Cat and I can only assume O2 sensors. Where did you end up getting the O2 sensors? TomK
