You want us to tell you how to destroy the traction battery? I don't think that's in the best interest of the PriusChat community.
Anything you did would be dangerous and most likely obvious. Plus the battery could run another 100k miles. Even if it did go bad people rebuild them and they are available at salvage yards.
Take it to AutoBeYours.com in southern Indiana (not too far from Springfield, IL). Steve will check the current health of the HV battery for you. He can also get a Prius running again if the battery fails out of warranty for a reasonable cost. JeffD
One dealer I talked to said they have never had to replace a hybrid battery. Considering that the Prius has been around for 10 years, I don't think it's a concern.
