regular inverter or brake pump noise - is this normal?

    Recently, I've noticed regular and louder pump noise coming from my 2012 Prius when it is off. The whirring sound is coming from the drive side, below the inverter. It comes on when I open the door, while the car is off. It is also pronounced when the car is running. It will also do it for a minute or so after I turn it off. See link to video with the sound. Sound is at 1 sec and again at 20 sec, in the video. There are no warning lights on the console. Is this normal?

    Brake pump going berserk Wait till you have codes and break starting to act different then you'll be forced to act It's about $1,400 worth of parts in about $600 worth of labor generally speaking depending upon location I didn't look to see where you are too many people don't really put the right place anyway so no matter.

    Thanks for the information. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. Sounds like an expensive repair. I also assume I'll need a new battery and inverter on this 2012 at some point in the next few years.

    Probably much sooner and later Don't get yourself in too much trouble with this vehicle they can be very problematic and costly so you're headed for lots of funny business generally speaking so it'll be soon time to make some decisions and be out of the car while it gets fixed or be out of the car while you do something else depending upon how much car you need per week or what have you.
