Today at the To Go Before event there was an interesting question: "Do you get regen when the car runs in reverse gear?" There wasn't a definitive answer and I was curious to find out. It just so happened that on the way home I passed a huge empty parking lot. So I took the opportunity to take some measurements. Sure enough we got regen in reverse gear, at least for my gen 2 2009 Prius:
Cool. That answers the question I've been longing to have answered.... I'm driving to work in reverse tomorrow!!
Slower speed, better aerodynamics, I think it will catch on. Reverse prius driving soon be all the rage in Harrison Township.
