Has there ever been a poll of the political leaning of the typical Prius owner?

    Yes.

I notice you have a blue Prius.
    I have a red Prius.
I'm wondering if political leanings have anything to do with choice in Prii color.

OK, you members of the Cool Chicks in Black Prii Club probably end up all over the political spectrum . . . as black includes all colors of the spectrum.

I'm also guessing that white Prii drivers tend to be apolitical or middle of the road . . . not wanting to make a scene . . . absent of any color . . . bland . . . just blending in unnoticed. :p

You mixed it up. Black is the absence of all colors (of all light, actually). White is the combination of all colors (the full spectrum).

Well, that all depends on how you look at it. Black absorbs all colors of light, reflecting none, while white reflects all, absorbing none.

Thus black could either be all over the spectrum (because they understand, or absorb, all sides of an argument), or be dead center/apolitical (because they don't emit any arguments themselves).

Likewise, white could be apolitical (because they don't listen to any arguments, everything just bounces off), or all over the spectrum (because they emit arguments of every type).

Anyways, i meant to ask... what about people like me with silver (or even the metallic grey) Prii? We seem to be a combination of black and white... so we're both apolitical and all over?

    Black/White:

Pigment: Black absorbs all colors of the spectrum, white reflects.
Light: White contains all colors of the spectrum, black is the absence of light.

    Me: Red car, blue politics.

Same here. With a Black and Blue heart to match if the November elections aren't any better than the 2004 elections!

RANCID - My birthday is December 3, I hope you deliver on your due date. I believe it is the 'Day of Ingenuity', (so they say)

You've got to be careful with this red/blue business. As I understand it in the US Red is Republican and Blue Democrat --- which is to say red is conservative and blue more liberal or progressive.

In Canada and the United Kingdom blue is clearly the colour of the Conservatives while red is for the Liberals in Canada and Labour in Britain.

We can get even more complicated when many of the Canadian Conservastive parties in the provinces are name Progressive Conservative and many of their adherents are known as "Red Tories". :) :) :)

Myself --- our Prius is Red --- I think of myself as a Red Tory and vote blue. My wife, who was traditionally a Red Tory voted Green in the last election however.

Ahhh...but a BLUE part of your state, no? (I lived in Arlington/Alexandria for about 3 years in the early-ish 80s).

But I'm one of the cool chicks...

Never had a blue car. Had a red one for a while.

And I am PRETTY sure most folks around here know onto which side of the politcal fence I fall. Or jump. HARD.

All very well, but the answer to the original question "are Prius owners liberal or conservative" is yes. They ARE liberal or conservative. And some are both. ;)
