    Hello,

I recently purchased a 2005 Prius with 178K miles. The previous owner mentioned the hybrid battery was replaced at 120K.

The car has been driving perfect. Yesterday while driving, the VCS light and Red Triangle light came on. I immediately pulled over, turned the car off and on restart the VCS light turned off but the Red Triangle is still on. On the top left corner of the navigation sceen, a picture of a car and exclamation mark is on.

Does this mean there's an immediate problem with the hybrid battery? I've driven over 100 miles since and the car runs and drives nicely. The hybrid consumption seems to working properly.

I've read that the 12v battery could be causing this and may need to be replaced. Is this a major problem and needing to be addressed immediately?

Other than that, my Prius drives perfect.

Check to see if you have any movement in the inverter coolant. If the pump failed, you would have issues driving it

You would need to get the codes read to really know the problem

Can I have codes red by just having the Red Triangle displayed? No other lights on including maintenance or check engine.

Check the inverter coolant first. If there's movement, then you would need to read the codes. If there's no movement, the pump has failed

You may have couple codes or ?,
probably p1121 ( valve stuck open ) and(or) p1181 (inverter water pump frozen ) that all I guess. Good luck.
