Does anyone know how to recenter the Navigation on you once you've touched elsewhere on the screen?

Home re-centers the Nav screen around your little flying candy corn car icon.

Pressing the home button, which is the upper button on the right side of the large screen, centers the car icon. When in route guidance, pressing the same home button repeats the voice instruction.

This "HOME" is the physical button to the right upper corner of the screen. Your "HOME" is the button at the navigation screen.

The physical "HOME" button means, "jump to the main (home) screen of the user interface". OTOH, the destination "Home" is where you live. Two different contexts for the word "Home".

Just like "Delete Dest" does not mean to delete the item from your address book or "previous destinations" or wherever. It means to stop navigating to the current destination.

I suspect that in both cases, things are much clearer in the original Japanese.

regardless of semantics my struggle to re-center the Nav screen was over once i learned from this forum that "home" button push works.

Mine doesn't seem to do that on the 11" screen version.

Will try again tomorrow but many times I've tried pressing that button but it simply pushes me out even further on centering as if I'm touching that part of the map.

Will try the "home" button suggested as well. That's one solution I've not yet tried.

    Thanks everyone.

7". I guess "Home" is the only way on the 11.6"?

You'd think it's the same software, I guess not :(. Learned something new!

Can someone tell me if the colors and ridges on the roads, on the map, tell traffic conditions?

    Thanks.

Home button worked but not the on screen button.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone. Was out sick yesterday.

Yay for resolution of the issue!

As you can seen on the 11" screen, the virtual button that appears on the 7" is likewise visible in the top left around some other virtual buttons. However it only shows the distance between the target and the vehicle's current location (in this photo, it's 0.2 miles). It is not a button you can click, if you try to, it simply behaves just like it would if you touched the map anywhere to move around. A little more effort for UI design would have gone a long way for Toyota [IMG]
