Hi folks, For information, I have just received a letter recalling my 2004 Prius. It says "Recent investigationshave revealed that on some Prius vehicles there is a possibility that you may experience an electric motor operation only(i.e. petrol engine may not start whilst the vehicle is under way and operating on the electric motor.)This is caused by a problem with the program logic in the Electronic Control Module (ECM) system. The electrically powered brake and steering operation will function normally if this condition occurs and the vehicle can be driven by the electric motor for a limited distance." I will be taking the car in next week. kenmac
so they're doing the recall down under too- no surprise, this has been big news in the us. check out the recent threads in the 'care, maintenance and troubleshooting' forums and you'll see what i mean
