There is currently a 10 dollar rebate on Mobil1 0w-20 (They call it Mobil1 Advanced Fuel Economy) when you buy 5 quarts or a five quart jug.
They also have a certificate to take off 12 bucks at an authorized service point when you change with Mobil1. (you can search for authorized service in your area at the site.

    Here is the link:
    https://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Promotions/Promotions.aspx

The 10 dollar rebate is hidden in the lower right corner.

    Happy Motoring.

Also, Autozone is having a special:

5 quarts of Mobil 1 oil (including Advanced Fuel Economy) plus a Mobil 1 oil filter for $29.99.

Plus you add the $10 rebate, and you get all that for $19.99.

A great deal. Unless you have a 2010, in which case the oil filter isn't going to help much.

I would use the offer to get a filter for a conventional second vehicle

    I've attached the coupon.
Looks like it's only good on 0w20 and 0w30 oil which they say provides the same protection as 5w20 and 5w20.

Very nice deal Tony. Too bad I have a carton of filters on my shelf that make these bundles less attractive for me.

Mobil 1 doesn't make a filter in the 2010 Prius size?

Do all Toyota dealers in the US have the 0W-20 on hand? And, isn't this better than Mobil 1?

Do they even make a cartridge filter refill? I've asked at the local auto parts stores and gotten blank stares and dumb looks.

There's a whole thread on this and the 5,000 mile OCI. It's very informative, give it a search...

My dealer definitely has 0w20, BUT IS IT BETTER? I don't think so.

0W-20 is the recommended viscosity of the oil; it has nothing to do with the quality of the oil.

Mobil 1 oil is a high quality full synthetic oil, which is better than regular oil. You can get Mobil 1 in the recommended 0W-20 viscosity, and it will be better than regular oil in the same viscosity.

Mobil 1 "Advanced Fuel Economy" oil normally sells for about $7 a quart. So the $10 rebate on 5 quarts is a significant savings.

The Mobil 1 oil filter is a high quality filter which typically sells for about $13.

So 5 quarts of Mobil 1 oil and a Mobil 1 oil filter will normally cost about $48.

Thus the AutoZone special of 5 quarts Mobil 1 oil plus a Mobil 1 oil filter for $29.99 is a great deal. And if you add the $10 rebate the cost will be only $19.99 which is about the lowest price you'll ever see.

EDIT: The recommended oil for the 2010 Prius is 0W-20 viscosity. I also thought that Toyota recommended synthetic oil (like Mobil 1), but I don't see that in the Owner's Manual.

Hmm, since there is a limit of 2 rebates per household, maybe I should get a family member to buy me 10 quarts for my birthday. :heh: This would give enough oil to last nearly 2 years. :D

I read the post wrong and went to Advanced Auto Parts instead Autozone. Way to may A’s.

They have a deal for $24.95 for 5 quarts of synthetic Valvoline and an oil filter for $24.95. They told me because Valvoline does not make 0W-20 they would sell me 5 quarts of Mobile1 0W-20 for the same price. Total cost out the door $24.95+tax. With the rebate it will be $14.95. I am going to go back and do it again in couple of days.

They did have the Oil filter for the Prius 2010 in stock. Is the filter hard to replace? On my 4Runner it is very hard. The new 4Runners have it on top of the engine.

Also: Checker auto has an ad for Mobil 1: Buy 4 get one free, then use the Mobil 1 coupon, or there is also an online coupon for 4.99 a quart.

I just picked up an oil filter for the 2010 from the dealer, it was the regular old spin on type, not an insert.

There is a bit of confusion here regarding oil filters on the 2010 Prius: it is NOT a spin on oil filter, like the 2004-2009. The 2010 is the same as the new Corolla, and the 5.7 V8 in the Sequoia and Tundra, in that it uses a cartridge element

SO far, it appears only dealerships have the cartridge element

    Doubt it very much....
I'm dropping the OE Toyo Oil sometime this week when I get to 1000miles. Sending a sample to BlackstoneLabs to see just what it's made of.....
    Mobil 1 0w/20 is going in...I'm confident I've made a good choice..

I picked one up today at Advanced Auto parts. They are on sale, 5 quarts of Mobil1 0W-20 and the oil filter for $24.95. Another $10 off for the rebate comes to $14.95

Excellent, the aftermarket is making the cartridges. However, just curious, what are they charging for that Purolator element?

My local dealership wants $10 for an element, that's for the size to fit a Corolla or a Prius. The one for the 5.7 V8 used in the Tundra and Sequoia, they want $13.50 for the element

Judgeless, my pal (I'm buttering you up since I used your glovebox photos in a thread....)
I have 2 Advance Auto stores very near me - is this a dealer-wide special as far as you know? If so - I'm on my way tomorrow....
    Thanks, Dean
