Rear "T" Badge Pearlizer Plastidip

    I was able to take the rear badge off with a little work and being extra careful. With the Gen 4 Prius, Toyota did not use the three prong method that was used on the Gen 3. Instead, they used a two prong setup with the same gray adhesive used behind the other emblems. [​IMG][​IMG]
    I started with 3 coats of white Plastidip. The weather in SoCal is warm so I didn't have to wait long between coats. [​IMG]
    I then followed this up with 3 coats of Pearlizer Plastidip. After each coat dries, hold the emblem up to your car to check the color match. Each coat will change the look, so be careful not to put too many coats on. [​IMG]
    After it had fully dried, I re-applied it the the car. Press firmly on the badge to bond the adhesive. You may want to use a hair dryer on the adhesive to soften it up. I believe it looks as close to stock as you can get without paying a body shop to color match it instead. [​IMG][​IMG][​IMG]

    I like the blue "halo" look. But I'm sure an all black background would look just as good.

    That white looks very nice Plus IV.

    A dealer near me offers a custom "black out" package on the new Prius and Camry.
    All Toyota emblems and Hybrid emblems are black.
    Plastic hubcaps are glossy black.
    The Z-Bolt tail lights are blacked out.
    And the window glass is a very dark tint.

    All that can be yours for $2999.

    I'm sure there will be someone who will actually pay for that package just so all that work is already done. Hey, it's only $5 more a month on the car payment to include that !!!
