One lesson learned during a recent tow was I need to have some way to stiffen or raise the rear. I saw one suggestion for an air-assist and that has me thinking. But I thought I'd ask the community if they have any recommendations (or experience) with stiffer springs on the rear?

I like the adjustable nature of the air-assist but wonder about their reliability and life.

As for installation, I bought a Curt hitch and will ask my installer if they have any recommendations.

    Thanks,
    Bob Wilson

    Hi Bob,

I would advise against installing stiffer springs for the rear because it would make your car ride really rough and upset the handling all the time. Our car's ride rough as is with a beam axle. Check out Andy's Auto Sport - 2010+ Toyota Prius air leveling kit from Firestone. At least with the air assist you have the option to use it only when needed. My .02 cents.....
