Just installed these led hatch lights.

Took 30 minutes but be careful while taking things apart.

These have touch sense ON/OFF and are plug n play connected to the OEM trunk light.

They are independent from the OEM trunk light and it does not matter if it is off.

Instructions are not in english but I translated the image into english.

You dont really need them anyway because it is all plug and play.

Just need to run the wires where it is needed.

I am not truely happy with the way the wires pass from the body to the hatch but for now I will leave it.

I will run the wire through the rubber boot later on.

    Will upload night time pictures later. 20240523_125829.jpeg 20240523_125736.jpeg 20240523_115529.jpeg 20240523_121438.jpeg 20240523_121540.jpeg 20240523_121558.jpeg

Here is a night time picture.

They turn on automatically when I open the hatch.

Very nice and the area is well lit. 20240523_204156.jpeg

Link to where you bought them / how much?

You said they are Touch Sense for On/Off? Can you turn them on or off independently of the stock cargo light. It looks like your have a button in the middle?

I got some a few years ago from HybridPit and wired in a switch so they don't turn off every time the hatch is open or seperate from the stock trunk lamp. Rear luggage light connector? | PriusChat

Also if you are careful you can run the wires through the existing grommet. I would recommend to remove the black sleeve so it is just the 2 individual wires and you also have to de-pin the connector so it fits. Just be careful so you don't scratch any of the existing wires in there, so don't use any sharp tools. I did and ended up scratching one of the white ground wires.

At the moment the company I am sourcing these from are out of stock, I grabbed the last set and they said they do not know when they will have more in stock.

The price for them was around the same price as HybridPit.

Yes these have touch sense ON/OFF and I can turn one or both off independently from the stock trunk light.

They also auto turn on when I open the hatch even after I turn them off manually.

If you have IG just follow me on there and I will let you know when I hear they are back in stock.

These LED type hatch/cargo area lights are all over ebay for RAV 4s and Highlanders the last time I was looking for lights. They mount in access cover openings, so no cutting is required. I'm not sure if the RAV4/Highlander openings are the same as the Prius, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were. That may be an option for you if you're able to measure the opening sizes and don't want to wait.

Aliexpress, about $40. Search for "xgr trunk lights prius 30".

Hmm I do not know about that site kinda sketchy like Temu.

I actually sourced mine from BlackHawkJapan.com but they are out of stock and cost more than that.

Vastly different product offerings on those two sites, I would not casually paint them with the same brush based on country of origin. AE carries more than just trinkets, and getting it from there generally means you're buying directly from the manufacturer rather than through a network of middlemen.

The same product was sold on the PriusChat shop a couple of years ago for about $80 and shipping. It was $40 at AE then, and it's still about $40 now.

I'm glad Azusa no longer thinks AliExpress is sketchy, having discovered their affiliate program. The previous post contains an affiliate link for the highest priced offering of that particular product on the site, so at least they were honest in not claiming they were trying to save everybody some cash.

Here is the cleaned up (non-affiliate) link if someone really wants to spend $89:
    https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256801520042793.html

And if someone wants the exact same thing for $40, they can use the following (non-affiliate) direct link, or just use the search string in #8:
